My 2016 Erin Condren Planner- Let’s Do This!

It’s no secret that I LOVE planners.

I’ve put a lot of hours into searching for the perfect planner over the years. Last year I logged 23 hours before I settled on the Moleskin. I was not disappointed.

Tonight I was telling Jake that I’m starting to get sad about leaving this friend behind. She’s purple and covered with stickers of organizations that I care about. She didn’t have a whole lot of frill but instead was compact and efficient and predictable. Perhaps there has never been a planner that I felt personified me more. Yep, my love for planners is legit.

I AM excited about my 2016 planner though. I’m trying out the Erin Condren planner this year. People I trust promise that I won’t be disappointed. 🙂

I chose the vertical weekly layout and I must admit- I wish it had more room to write down my agenda and to-do’s every day. But the colors are bright and cheerful and I LOVE the feel and attitude of the planner already!

I stayed up until after midnight on Thursday night watching videos and reading blogs about how others use their Erin Condren planners. Not only did I add some great ideas to my new Erin Condren Pinterest board, but all that research made me feel way more normal in my obsession. Did you know that some people have ENTIRE BLOGS dedicated to planners?!

Awesome DIY Erin Condren Hacks:

In addition to my lovely planner, I splurged on a removable, dry-erase menu planner that I will use as my bookmark (AWESOME) as well as some extra personalized stickers that I can slap on the page instead of rewriting the same thing every week (Life Group, Bible Study, PTO meeting, etc.). I wasn’t quite sure which ones to get since I haven’t used stickers before, but figured for $2, I can’t go wrong!

  1. I can’t wait to see it!!! I’ll try to work some one mine too. Are you decorating a whole month at a time??

  2. I love planners too but I haven’t used one in the past 2 years. 🙁 Once I finished homeschooling, I went to a small calendar that would fit in my purse, and depend now almost totally on my online calendar (which can cause TOTAL grief when it messes up!). ha. I love the planner you used here. It is hard to leave these old friends behind. I guess that’s why I have a stack of past year’s planners in my closet still. 🙂

  3. Ha- yes! I’ve tried the online calendar (briefly), but it never really worked for me. There’s something magical about the writing down process for me. I think it makes it stick in my brain better! 🙂 Ha! I love that you’ve kept your past planners! This is the first year that I feel like I want to do that too.

  4. OK, done. I am drinking the Kool-Aid and trying to be more intentional. Thanks for the $10 off! This planner had a lot of the bells and whistles I was seeking, so I bought it. FYI, part of what is motivating me is another thingy for which I am drinking the Kool-Aid…my manager told me to take the corporate class The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. State Farm footed the bill for this seminar, so I happily went, with an open mind. And it was really inspiring, and a huge part of why I am taking further steps with the planner. I was looking for one, anyway, and when I read up on this one, I was sold. Thanks for the post, and for the hacks! Also, my niece (21) watched one or two of the YouTube reviewers with me and said it made her happy to know there are other planner geeks out there. 🙂

  5. Ahhh!! Tracy that’s awesome! Let me know what you think of it 🙂

That’s pretty fantastic about the seminar. I haven’t read that book, but his book on 7 Habits on Highly Effective Families, and that was incredible too! I can imagine that the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is equally as great.

Ha! What planner does Molly use?
